Felicity Loudon has been an interior designer for over 20 years; with no need for publicity she has built an enviable client list who appreciate her discretion. Indeed, The Private House seemed the natural evolution to this approach. A unique shopping experience, temporarily based at Upper Swell, Gloucestershire, The Private House is perfect for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary, whether it be contemporary or antique. In fact, Felicity prides herself on making these opposite worlds work together in perfect harmony.

Upon entering The Private House, by appointment from Monday to Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am-12pm, one will find a ‘hidden gem’ of extraordinary sophistication, where inexpensive objects sit seamlessly next to rare collectors’ items. Indeed, this juxtaposition perfectly captures the ethos of The Private House. Everything personally hand picked, everything out of the ordinary.

This Spring we relaunch our unique shopping experience, with new products about to appear on your screens, covering all occasions, with an obvious emphasis on Spring and Summer weddings, which could include a personalised wish list tailored to you and you alone. We are currently at Upper Swell, Gloucestershire, as we continue to search for the perfect commercial position, but where we once again entertain those who travel distances with the opportunity to lunch at delicious local pubs or nibble some of our homemade treats.

“The upbeat British mood of the moment gives us the signal that small businesses must struggle and will survive, if we recognise that value for money is a crucial element for all collections something that we have always strived to attain, albeit in a cocooned world of the 'By Appointment'. My vision for the next few years is to be more visible in the market place in order to make the brand more readily available, but still full of the unusual and the quirky.

We hope what you see will inspire, and there is a whole new collection, about to launch. We hope that if nothing else, we surprise you, and once again that we have covered the price ranges that are essentially affordable and if cleverly presented will seem special in any home.”
